💚 Original Konkani Lungi from Goa

This original Konkani lungi from India features a vibrant green color and decorative borders in red, gold, and green. I personally selected this traditional wrap at a market in Mapusa, Goa, and brought it back to Germany.

The lightweight cotton fabric is comfortable to wrap around the body and can be used in many different ways. Traditionally, a lungi is worn as a wraparound garment. It can also be used as a sarong, beach wrap, lightweight cover-up, or decorative cloth.

The contrasting red-and-gold border creates a striking accent against the vibrant green fabric. An additional green-and-gold decorative edge completes the traditional design.

The lungi is new and unworn. I washed it once before offering it for sale so that it is ready to wear.

The lungi can be traditionally wrapped around the waist or used as a sarong, beach wrap, lightweight cover-up, or decorative cloth. Its rectangular shape allows it to be wrapped and styled in different ways.

🤍 Care Instructions

I washed the lungi once before offering it for sale so that it is ready to wear. Some excess dye was released during the first wash. As the fabric may continue to release some color during subsequent washes, please wash it separately.

• Wash cold, preferably by hand
• Wash separately from other textiles
• Do not bleach
• Air-dry

ℹ️ Note About the Finish

The side edges have a traditional open or fringed finish. A few loose threads may initially come away. After this initial fraying, the edges stabilize and do not continue to unravel. This is not a defect but a typical feature of this type of finish.

The name “Konkani Lungi” reflects the label used when the item was purchased at the market in Mapusa. Colors may vary slightly from the original depending on screen settings and lighting conditions.
